The current soundtrack to my life…

These are the current albums I have constantly running on shuffle on my iPod. Great stuff — you’ve got to check them out.

– The Morning by Andrew Osenga
– Gravity | Love by Sandra McCracken
– The Far Country by Andrew Peterson
– How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb by U2
– Mockingbird by Derek Webb
– Good Monsters by Jars of Clay
– A Collision by David Crowder Band
– Between the Dreaming and the Coming True by Bebo Norman

Chances are you have heard of most of the people near the bottom of that list. The ones at the top, Andrew and Sandra, are independent artists who are amazing. It constantly surprises me the wealth of talent you can find among musicians who have not been given big recording contracts. Why record companies pass over these people and pick up others is beyond me. But, fortunately for these guys, the internet is leveling the playing field. For more great independent musicians, check out The Square Peg Alliance.

A change would do you good

Well, 2007 is shaping up to be the year of change. We have signed a contract on a new house and sold our house — we’ll be closing on both on April 30th. A very good move. We’re moving into Claremore and into a house that is nearly double the size of our current one. Jenny and I outgrew our current house BEFORE Emma was born. The new house will have more room, a 4th bedroom/gameroom, a larger yard, it’s closer to the church, rec center, parks, and the lake. Very exciting — can’t wait till we’re there.

Also, I have quit my job and accepted a new job at Stonehenge. I’ll be a consultant on project teams that they send into other companies to work projects from start to finish. The first project will be at USIS. I’m really excited about this as well. I loved working at DTAG for the almost 4 years that I was there, but with the EDS transition everything was different — and I was just ready for a change.

So, 2007 is shaping up to be the year of change. I’ll keep you posted on how these changes go — I’m going to make every effort to keep up with this blog this year as well!
